The Beautiful Chinese Lantern

For years the chinese lantern has been used to bring luck and prosperity to the Chinese New Year. The ancient lanterns dates back as far as 230 BC. These beautiful lanterns are also known as wish lanterns. The lanterns are made with biodegradable rice paper. There is a fuel cell in the lantern. Once the fuel cell is ignited the lantern will fly into the air. The lantern can fly up to a mile into the air. It will stay flying in the air approximately ten to twelve minutes.

Today the chinese lantern is used at many different festive occasions. One of the most popular things to do with these lanterns is to have a lantern parties. These parties are typically held during evening hours, so guest can enjoy seeing the lanterns light up night sky. During these parties party goers enjoy music and dancing as well as Asian food and Asian drinks.

Many people now use chinese lantern to decorate for different types of parties. Some of these lanterns are powered by electricity or by battery. Other lanterns don’t have a fuel source and are just hung up for decoration without being light up.  Round is one of the most popular shapes for these lanterns, but they do come in all different shapes. The lanterns also come with many different designs on them. Many people get lanterns with their favorite Chinese symbol on them. For children’s birthday parties, a lantern with the child’s favorite animal on it is a popular choice.

Having a chinese lantern on an outside porch or patio can give the area a festive party atmosphere. The ambiance that is given by these lanterns is not something that can be done by other decorations or lighting. Many people who are using the lanterns to decorate outdoor areas prefer to get lanterns with words such as love or peace written on them.Lanterns with more elaborate details and designs on them are also popular choices for people who want to give their outdoor space a more party like atmosphere. Another beautiful option for people who are decorating their outdoor areas is to get a lantern with painted glass panels on them.
